Time goes by so fast. Many parents hire a professional photographer to capture the first days together. Newborn sessions are so very popular. But before you know it’s time to capture another important moment in your baby’s life. One year!! First Birthday Cake Smash Sessions are so much fun for everyone involved. It’s also a little bitter-sweet moment. Your adorable peanut is growing up so fast.
Out of many questions I get asked about First Birthday Cake Smash Session, the most common is WHEN should we schedule the session for our baby? I always recommend getting in touch at least few months in advance, and scheduling the actual baby session in about 1 month prior to the actual birthday. This way most likely you will receive the images back in time, especially if you plan on printing them for the party, announcements or thank you cards.
If you scrolled through my galleries – more of my First Birthday Sessions I offer minimalistic and modern baby sessions. Along my all white & timeless first birthday cake smash session, I also offer first birthday portraits with a splash of color! However, you will not find any over the top sets on my page. This just haven’t been my cup of tea. I will create beautiful, tasteful setups based on your color preference. We will discuss anything you like and also anything you don’t like. I will show you examples of my past cake smash sessions also. And if you still insist on a mickey mouse setup, I will simply refer you to my photographer friend, who specializes in just exactly that. No offense will be taken :). I would rather have you fall in love with your images and have exactly what you imagined!

For this sweet little lady we opted for delicate pink and baby blue balloons with some twinkle lights in the background. I have decided that from now on I will be adding twinkle lights to every first birthday cake smash session! Simply love how adorable they look. They add that special touch to the photo but still keep everything tasteful and sweet 🙂
